What could be better than 100 low prep activities to start the fall off with a bang?  These printable pages, when added to basic classroom supplies, encompass most of the core skills needed for the developing learner. 

These work pages do not need to be done in sequential order, and can be grouped into learning lessons.  Inside the Apple Themed Activity Kit you will find enough activities to fill days, or weeks of daily classwork. 

Several of the activities are print and go.  Others, while being print and go, can be laminated for easy reuse, or working in centers. Some pages can be printed or used with a dry erase marker.

This print as you go Apple Therapy Kit develops:

• Spin and place sorting, drawing, and writing – with the addition of a spinner, some coins, and a pencil, learners can sort coins, spin the spinner to write and sort words, and copy/sort designs.  Use this further to talk about graphing, identifying same/different, fine motor development, learning to use a spinner, and more.  
• Cut and Paste – These pages feature three different apple designs to cut and paste together. The pages can be used for tracing, drawing, cutting, visual perception parts to whole, as well as thematic development

• Apple Shape cards – Work on making different shapes using playdough, toothpicks, or a pencil. Students use this multisensory approach to help develop learning and understanding of shapes.

• Pencil Grasp cards – Cute cards with instructions to help students develop the intrinsic hand muscles needed for writing and pencil grasp. Students will use clothespins to master nine different tasks.  Later on in the packet there are three more clothespin pages to develop hand strength.

• Apple Bead cards – Add some large beads, string/chenille stems, and this reusable printable to develop pattern matching, bilateral coordination, fine motor skills, attention/focus, following directions, visual perceptual skills, and color recognition

• Draw and Write – These four pages teach students to draw an apple using sequential designs. Students develop eye hand coordination while trying to master the art of drawing an apple. They are then asked to write the word apple or a sentence about apples.  Different styles of writing paper is provided for various learning levels.

• Count and Write – Roll a dice.  Students use their fingers to roll small balls of dough into circles to place on their apple pages.  This develops fine motor strength, while working on counting, bilateral coordination, sensory play, and visual perceptual scanning skills.  These pages can be used with a variety of items such as crayons, pom poms, dot markers, popcorn, and more to develop critical skills. Roll and write playdough card encourages students to roll small balls of dough and fit into the various spots on the pages.

• Cutting Apple Shapes – While the apple is the star of the picture, the shapes around the apples vary.  Students practice cutting basic shapes of circles, squares, and triangles. They can color the shapes, glue onto another page, sort the shapes, trace each shape, and more.
• Maze with Writing Prompt – Students combine the visual perceptual skill of figure ground, while incorporating writing in the form of a writing prompt. They write about their favorite part of going apple picking, after solving the maze.
• Fine Motor Paths – Several pages contain fine motor paths. Students can trace along the paths to develop fine motor precision, or place items along the path to develop fine motor control and visual processing skills.  There are several different pages to choose from.  This is another page that can be laminated for reuse.

• Scissor Skills – These pages help develop basic scissor skills. It may be necessary to try this page before the cut and paste, or higher level cutting pages, if your learner is not able to cut yet. The beauty of this packet is to use however many or few pages you need for successful learning.
• Finger Puppet – Some learners are kinesthetic learners. They grasp concepts easier by being involved in the project in several different ways. Students use these finger puppets as a cut/glue task, sensory bin task, letter writing activity, and tracing page.
• Counting Cards – These three pages include numbers one to twenty.  Students can use these pages to cut, color, sort, count, glue, scan, follow directions, focus on a task, and more. Use toothpicks to clip the corresponding number onto the card, count apple seeds to place onto each card, use dot markers to make the right number of dots on each card, mix the cards and have students put the cards in order.  The possibilities are endless with this set of cards!
• Ten Frame Math Fun – STEM learning is an increasingly popular learning methodology.  Learning combining math, science, technology and engineering is at the forefront of education.  These ten frame cards combine math with fine motor skills. Students work on placing different items into the different frames of ten to develop counting, sorting, fine motor strength, and more.  Laminate this page or use it as a coloring sheet.  Students could also write the numbers in the boxes for an additional challenge.
• Apple Says, Motor Skills Game – Similar to the familiar “Simon Says” game, learners shuffle the cards, then read or listen to the prompt and follow the directions.  Some cards say, “apple says” while others do not.  Students will develop critical listening skills while following directions and moving their bodies.
• Apple Dot Art – Students LOVE dot or bingo markers!  These fun markers develop eye hand coordination, sensory feedback, gross grasping pattern, hand strength, while learning fine motor precision and accuracy.  Different designs with levels of accuracy will keep students engaged.
• Writing Prompt – These six pages of writing prompts help get the reluctant writer started. Some students need a direction in order to begin writing.  These apple themed pages do just that.
• Apple Letter Writing Cards – Laminate and use these for identifying letters, sorting them, tracing each letter, and beginning letter formation.  Create different games using these cute alphabet cards
• Letter matching – There are 26 letter matching pages in this packet!  Each one highlights a different letter of the alphabet. Students are asked to find the matching letters. This helps develop critical matching, scanning, and discrimination skills.  Students can use a bingo marker, crayon, dry erase marker, or their finger.  To make this a truly visual perceptual task, eliminate any writing, using pointing or touching only.
